نزاکت یہ لفظ عربی میں نہیں ہے، فارسی والوں نے ’’ہلاکت، لطافت‘‘ وغیرہ کے قیاس پر بنا لیا ہے اوراب اردومیں بھی رائج ہے۔عربی میں یہ غلط ہے، لیکن اردو میں بالکل صحیح ہے۔’’تمازت‘‘ کی طرح اسے بھی مرکب استعمال کیا جاسکتا ہے، مومن ؎ دشنا میار طبع حزیں پر گراں نہیں اے ہم نفس نزاکت آواز دیکھنا میرا خیال تھا کہ ’’نزاکت‘‘ اختراع اردو ہے لیکن جناب عقیل الغروی نے مجھے متوجہ کیا ہے کہ یہ لفظ فارسی میں موجود ہے۔
